Bellevue Public Schools Tenant Improvements for Newport Hgts

Bellevue Public Schools Bellevue, Washington Notice for Architectural Services For Tenant Improvements at the Old Newport Heights Elementary School In accordance with RCW 39.80 the Bellevue School District is seeking architectural services for tenant improvements for the Old Newport Heights Elementary School. The scope of the project is to provide basic upgrades to the current facility to be a standard facility for elementary school programs. This facility is approximately 40,000 SF of building area. The proposed scope of work consists of the following: Architectural: New casework, interior finishes such as paint, flooring, ceilings and trim will be required. Make revisions to doors and others spaces as required to meet ADA. Minor roofing repairs will need to be addressed. Architectural Exterior: Replace windows with double pane glass. Replace doors. Provide miscellaneous clean-up to existing walls. There will be no changes to the building height or exterior presence. Structural: There will be selective seismic upgrade as needed but no other structural alterations that would change the bearing system or structural loads. Electrical: Some replacement of the data, fire alarm, intercom system, and lighting upgrades. Plumbing: Upgrade restrooms to meet ADA. HVAC: Boiler replacement, along with fan coils and air handlers serving each classroom will most likely need to be replaced along with control system upgrades. ADA: The campus received some ADA upgrades in 1997 and there are some non-conforming conditions that will need to be addressed. Site: Parking and drop-off areas are restrictive and off-site improvements such as sidewalks will most likely need to be addressed along with playground areas. Firms interested in being considered must submit three copies of a resume of the firms capabilities and interest to Jack McLeod, Director of Facilities and Operations, Bellevue School District, 12037 NE 5th St., Bellevue, Washington 98005. These documents are due no later than 3:00 p.m. on July 28, 2014. Experience in the design of educational facilities, experience with tenant improvement projects as well as experience in working with the City of Bellevue is required.
